Capabilities

What our sensors make possible. Each capability lists example applications — the specific systems it enables. Every one of them changes how devices perceive their environment and respond to it.

Six capabilities

One core technology underneath all six

The vapor cell, the photonic integration and the qualification work are common to every capability on this page. What changes is the quantity being measured — and each drawing below is of that measurement being made.

A navigation track holding its course through a GPS-denied band while the satellite-derived estimate drifts away from it.

Alt PNT

Positioning, navigation and timing that survives GPS denial, degradation and spoofing.

  • Spoofing detection
  • Jam resistance
  • Assured navigation
Read the capability
Four distributed clocks whose rising edges all land on one shared reference edge, holding the network in step.

Time synchronization

Holding distributed systems in step without depending on a satellite signal.

  • Grid synchronization
  • Telecommunications
Read the capability
A timing-error trace after the satellite lock is lost: the held clock stays inside tolerance while an unheld oscillator crosses it.

GPS holdover

Maintaining timing accuracy through extended loss of GPS.

  • Defense
  • Data centers
Read the capability
A magnetometer traverse across a survey line, with the magnetic contours closing into a bullseye over a buried anomaly.

Mag ISR

Magnetic intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance — detecting what other sensors cannot see.

  • Defense
Read the capability
A magnetic sensor scanning a component wall, with flux leaking out around a subsurface flaw and the trace peaking directly above it.

Mag NDT

Non-destructive testing using magnetic sensing, reading through material rather than around it.

  • Pipeline inspection
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Automotive and aerospace parts manufacturing
Read the capability
An inertial sensor riding a length of track, with the deviation trace rising where the rail geometry bows out of alignment.

Rail monitoring

Inertial and gyroscopic sensing applied to rail infrastructure monitoring.

  • IMU / gyro

The common part

It is the same cell every time

Light crosses a sealed cell of atomic vapour and comes out carrying a measurement of whatever the atoms were exposed to. Change what you read off it and you change the capability, not the hardware.

Products and core technology
Laser light crossing a sealed cell of atomic vapour into a detector, whose trace dips at the atomic resonance the sensor measures against.
